The Washington State Employment Security Department's Self Employment Assistance Program (SEAP) allows individuals to receive unemployment benefits while participating in a SEAP approved business training program if they are pursuing self employment.

There are 3 steps simple steps required for enrolling in the Get Launched Now program.

1. Download and fill out the SEAP Application

Download and complete the Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP) application or pick one up at your local WorkSource office. Applying for a SEAP training program may take up to 2-3 weeks for approval.

2. Email us your signed SEAP Application

After completing your SEAP training application, email it to Cheryl at We will then review it, sign it, and send it in to the Employment Security Department.

3. Pay Your Course Tuition - (After SEAP Approval)

After you've been approved for SEAP training, you are responsible for paying your course tuition. WA State ESD does not cover the cost for you to attend training. Notify us once you have been approved and we will provide you with a payment link. No payment is due until you are approved and ready to begin training.
